Healthy Start
Building Bridges Program
The Healthy Start Building Bridges program is a collaboration between YMCA Youth & Family Services (YFS), communities, schools and families. Healthy Start Building Bridges offers services at Roosevelt Middle School and Bayview Terrace Elementary School. YFS and community partners collaborate to provide free counseling, mentoring, family support, parent education, and teacher support. Who we serve:
- Referred students, families and teachers at Roosevelt Middle School and Bayview Terrace Elementary School.
Program Philosophy:
Link community resources to schools in order to enhance student and family health.
Program Goals:
- Ensure student safety within home and school setting
- Prevent juvenile unlawful behavior
- Enhance school performance
- Improve and support mental health functioning for student and family
- Support teacher effectiveness with challenging behavioral issues within the classroom
Services Available:
