Independent Living Skills

 
   

The Independent Living Skills program (ILS) is a county-funded program designed to prepare and assist current and former foster youth, ages 16-21, through their transition from the foster care system.

  • ILS works with youth who are referred to the program at the age of 16 by their county social worker or probation officer.
  • The YMCA ILS program serves nearly 400 youth every year.
  • Areas of Service include:
    • North Coastal
    • North Inland

ILS also offers workshops, youth centers, incentives, special events, other referrals and assistance.
