SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

We focus our work in three key areas, because nurturing the potential of kids, helping people live healthier, and supporting our neighbors are fundamental to strengthening communities.

YFS Board of Management

Purpose

To plan and conduct the work of the YMCA of San Diego County’s Youth & Family Services Department in conformance with the Association’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, and rules and regulations of the Board of Directors and Board of Governors, and to raise funds to help finance Department programs.

The YFS Board of Management currently consists of 25 members. YFS is working to strategically grow the board to be increasingly representative of the population we serve and to increase the size to 32 active members by 2015.

The YFS Board of Management is a group of advisors that guides the activities and strategic growth of the Youth & Family Services Department. Board Members share their time, talent and treasure to improve the organization and the quality of services provided.

Board Members commit to three years of volunteer service. Board Members must regularly attend board meetings, actively participate in a committee and support all fundraising efforts. Board Members serve as ambassadors and advocates for YMCA Youth & Family Services in the community.

The YFS Board of Management meets monthly from September to June. Current Committees include:

  • Development
  • Facilities
  • Finance
  • Governance
